F-35 Program Achieves Overall 2010 Flight Test Target

Fort Worth, Texas On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] F-35 Lightning II program team reached its 2010 goal of 394 test flights jointly established by the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office and Lockheed Martin. Avionics-Equipped F-35 Joins Edwards AFB Test Jets

The third F-35A to join the test fleet at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., tops off its fuel tanks while cruising west toward its destination after departing Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 10. Lockheed Martin test pilot Bill Gigliotti flew the conventional takeoff and landing variant, known as AF-3, on the 1,200-mile ferry flight.
