Lockheed Martin delivered 30 F-35s in 2012. The 30 aircraft comprised 11 CTOLs, 18 Short Takeoff/Vertical Landing (STOVL) variants, and one Carrier Variant (CV). Two of the STOVLS were the first two international jets delivered in program history. All but the carrier variant, known as CF-5, are production aircraft delivered to various bases for operational purposes. CF-5 was built for flight testing and delivered to the System Development and Demonstration (SDD) program.

Winnipeg, Manitoba – December 13, 2012 – Magellan Aerospace announced today, it has completed the first F-35A Lightning II horizontal tail assembly at its Winnipeg manufacturing division.
